Envisioning a Pearland for All

The Reimagine Pearland Initiative is dedicated to enhancing Pearland Parkway and Broadway Street with safe, accessible sidewalks and bike lanes, fostering a healthier, more connected community.

The Situation

Pearland’s growing population faces rising risks without proper pedestrian infrastructure. From statewide increases in crashes to local fatalities in nearby Houston, the data shows a need for immediate action. Sidewalks aren’t just a convenience—they’re a critical step toward safer, healthier, and more connected neighborhoods.

The Solution

Pearland can be more than a place built around cars. It can be a place where people walk, bike, gather, and thrive.

We envision tree-lined streets with protected bike lanes, shaded sidewalks, and small parks that bring people together. Locally owned shops and homes can be integrated into walkable blocks that reflect the unique character of Pearland.

This is more than a design update. It’s a commitment to livability, sustainability, and equity—a Pearland where everyone, regardless of age or ability, can move safely and feel proud of the place they call home.

The Reimagine Pearland Initiative aims  to build 8.5 miles of protected bike lanes and six-foot sidewalks along Pearland Parkway and Broadway Street. This project will create shaded, people-first corridors that make it safer and easier to walk, bike, and connect across the city.
